The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)

CQI logo

The Chartered Quality Institute, founded in 1919, is the professional institute for quality practitioners. The CQI is the custodian of the UK body of quality knowledge and holds no brief for any particular management system model but promotes the concept that the effective management of quality adds value and underpins an organisation's competitiveness. We encourage organisations to think of quality in terms of 'innovation' and 'care'; innovation of products and services and the processes that deliver them and care for our customers, our personnel, the society in which we operate; our environment and the developing world. Care even extends to care for our planet and the use of sustainable processes to produce and deliver our products or services.

CQI Management Consultants Register
The Management Consultants Register currently has approximately 100 members listed as Registered Senior Consultant, Registered Consultant or Associate. Membership criteria are stringent and this means that membership of the MCR is recognition that a consultant has proven competencies, experience and knowledge. Registered Senior Consultants and Registered Consultants are entitled to use the MCR logo.
The CQI receives many requests from prospective clients for the services of a Consultant to undertake work in a variety of disciplines and Registered Consultants and Registered Senior Consultants are eligible to receive referrals that fall within their competency and sector experience.

Membership
All listed consultants are certified as individuals. Membership is restricted to consultants who not only meet the requirements for Membership of the CQI or equivalent organisation but also can provide evidence of senior management experience and satisfactory completion of assignments in their chosen competencies. Certification is for a period of 3 years at the end of which consultants have to demonstrate that they have continued to practice for a specified period of time in accordance with the code of conduct and to have conducted continuing professional development.
